1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing or using our delivery services, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. These conditions represent the entire agreement between the customer and AAJ EXPRESS and shall prevail to the exclusion or any other terms and condition which the customer choose to incorporate.
2. DEFINITION
AAJ EXPRESS: “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to AAJ EXPRESS, a logistics and delivery service provider registered in Nigeria, providing domestic and international shipment, courier, and related services in accordance with applicable laws.
SHIPMENTS: Means any package, parcel, consignment, or item(s) entrusted to AAJ EXPRESS by the Sender for the purpose of delivery to the Receiver, whether for domestic or international transport.
SENDER: Means any individual, company, or entity who initiates a shipment with AAJ EXPRESS by submitting shipment details, providing the shipment for delivery, and/or paying for shipping services.
RECIEVER: or “Recipient” means any individual, company, or entity designated by the Sender to receive the shipment from AAJ EXPRESS at the delivery address provided.
DECLARED VALUE: The monetary value of the shipment stated by the Sender; defines liability limits for refunds/claims.
DELIVERY / DELIVERED / IN TRANSIT: When the shipment is accepted by AAJ EXPRESS, considered in transit, and when it is deemed delivered.
LOCAL SHIPMENT: Shipment transported within Nigeria.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENT: Shipment transported to a destination outside Nigeria.
PROHIBITED ITEMS: Items that are illegal, unsafe, or restricted by law or AAJ EXPRESS policy.
RETURN / RETURNED SHIPMENT: Shipments sent back to the Sender or AAJ EXPRESS for any reason, including customs rejection.
DEMURRAGE / STORAGE FEES: Charges incurred when the Sender or Receiver delays collection beyond specified timelines.
CUSTOMS / REGULATORY AUTHORITIES: Any government, port, or border agency responsible for shipment inspection, clearance, or enforcement.
FORCE MAJEURE EVENT: Events outside AAJ EXPRESS’s control (e.g., natural disasters, airline delay, strikes, wars, government actions) that may delay or prevent shipment.
CUSTOMER / USER: Can be used to collectively refer to both Sender and Receiver when needed.
3. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
AAJ EXPRESS provides international and local delivery services for individuals, Government organizations, non-governmental organizations, corporate and non-corporate businesses, institutions, etc. The details of our services, including pricing, pick up, delivery options, clearing and forwarding, freight services and service areas, are available on our website.
4. CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer must provide accurate and complete information for pick-up and delivery requests at all times to enable swift and complete pickup delivery services.
All goods must be properly packed by the customer to ensure safety while on transit and handled with proper care.
Customer must ensure that the receiver is available to receive their goods at the designated address within the scheduled time and date.
Customer shall pay AAJ all the demurrage and other fees charged or incurred by AAJ to warehouse or store Customer’s cargo if not received or picked up within the stipulated time for delivery or pickup which must not exceed (5) working days.
Undelivered shipment due to bad address information provided by the customer would attract additional fees depending on where it is being returned from.
In the event that a shipment is returned from the destination for any reason whatsoever, the customer shall bear full responsibility for the cost of return, including but not limited to return shipping fees, handling charges, and any additional expenses incurred.
5. INSPECTION OF GOODS
AAJ express has the right to inspect the goods without prior notice to the customer, which includes the right to open the goods and inspect the goods and shall in no way be held liable.
The customer or receiver as the case maybe is to ensure 100% inspection of the goods received and confirm the condition of the goods at the point of collection before departure as AAJ EXPRESS will not be liable for any complaints that may arise thereafter.
AAJ EXPRESSS will not deny Government Agencies e.g. NAFDAC, NDLEA, CUSTOMS and The Police request for special Investigative inspection of shipment while in transit or within AAJ Express facility as the case maybe.
6. DELIVERY
Delivery times and dates are estimates only and may be subject to change based on factors beyond our control, including but not limited to traffic conditions, weather disruptions, airline delay, customs clearance delays, or governmental inspections/holds.
While we remain committed to ensuring your shipment is delivered safely and in good condition, please note that the Company shall not be held responsible for delivery delays caused by third-party logistics partners or external circumstances outside our control.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery addresses as AAJ EXPRESS will not deliver to postal codes. If the goods are deemed unacceptable, or the customer cannot be reached or identified, AAJ EXPRESS shall make reasonable efforts to reschedule the delivery or provide alternative solutions for the shipment to be delivered at the customer’s cost. However, availability and timely delivery cannot be guaranteed.
7. PAYMENT
Payment for our logistics services must be made in full prior to the commencement of the service, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Any additional fees, such as customs duties or taxes, incurred during the delivery process are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid promptly upon notification.
Failure to make payment may result in delays or cancellation of the service. All payment transactions are processed securely, and we do not store or retain any payment information. We also reserve the right to pursue legal action to recover any unpaid amounts, and the customer shall be liable for any associated legal fees and costs incurred.
AAJ EXPRESS does not accept excess payments. Customers must ensure that only the exact amount provided to you is paid, as AAJ EXPRESS will not be responsible for any issues arising from excess payments. AAJ EXPRESS does not do CASH BACK.
8. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
Refunds are issued based on our Refund Policy. See our refund policy for more information. Upon receiving your request for a refund, we will conduct an investigation to determine eligibility; if your request is been approved, you will be notified, and the refund will be processed.
8.1. REFUND EXCEPTIONS
a. SERVICE DELAYS: Refunds will not be granted for delays caused by factors beyond our control, such as weather conditions, customs delay or other unforeseen circumstances.
b. INCOMPLETE OR INACCURATE ADDRESSES: If a service failure occurs due to an incomplete or inaccurate address provided by the customer, a refund will not be applicable.
It is worthy of note that whatever the case may be, it is subjected to Seven (7) working days of investigation before refund is initiated.

At AAJ EXPRESS, we are committed to providing the best possible service and minimizing the impact of any unexpected delays. In the event of such delays, we will make every effort to offer alternative solutions, such as rescheduling deliveries or rerouting shipments, to meet your needs.
While we strive to ensure timely service, some delays may occur due to factors beyond our control, such as weather conditions, regulatory issues, or unforeseen events. We kindly ask for your understanding and acknowledge that these situations carry inherent risks. Although we will do our utmost to mitigate these challenges, we cannot accept liability for any damages or losses resulting from delays caused by circumstances outside our control. Such factors include Natural Disasters, Weather Condition, Regulatory Issues, Acts of War or Terrorism, Accidents etc
10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE
AAJ partners with third-party courier services, such as DHL, FedEx, DPD, UPS, USPS and every other active player in the logistics and transport industry for efficiency, to deliver shipments to locations where we do not have direct coverage or reach. These partnerships are made with the knowledge and consent of our customers. Please note that any delays or mishandling by these third-party providers are not solely the responsibility of AAJ. While we do not assume liability for actions taken by these couriers, we will use our relationship with them to ensure that customers are treated fairly and compensated in the event of a lost or damaged shipment. However, AAJ has no control over the investigation process or the time it may take for third-party couriers to resolve and compensate for any issues
11. PROHIBITED ITEMS
AAJ EXPRESS will not ship documents and articles prohibited by Nigerian laws and regulations, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), or any other relevant agency or organization, and any item prohibited by the Nigeria Custom services and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), state or local government and any other related agency from time to time. including but not limited to:
- •Flammable, explosive, dangerous, hazardous waste
- •Obscene articles
- •Poisonous and harmful articles
- •Sharp articles without effective packaging
- •Human corpses, human organs or body parts, human or animal embryos, cremated or disinterred human remains
- •Live animals, including insects and pets
- •Animal carcasses, dead animals, or animals that have been mounted
- •Money, including but not limited to cash and cash equivalents, cheques, precious stones including Gold/Silver/Diamond Jewelries
- •Pressurized cans
- •Weapons
- •Hard drugs and Weeds under the classification of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
12. CUSTOMS DUTIES AND TAXES
12.1. IMPORT AND EXPORT
12.2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR CUSTOMS DOCUMENTATION
1. Clearance Requirements: Sender and receiver are responsible for providing all necessary documentation required for customs clearance in the destination country.
2. Consequences of Documentation Failure: In the event that either the sender or receiver fails to provide the required documentation, the sender will be responsible for any additional costs incurred, including the return of the shipment to the origin.
12.3. DELAYS DUE TO CUSTOMS
- • AAJ EXPRESS shall not be held responsible for any delay arising from customs inspections, clearance procedures, or actions of border control authorities at the point of origin or destination.
- • In the event that a shipment attracts demurrage, storage, or other ancillary charges due to the sender’s failure, refusal, or delay in collecting the shipment, the sender shall bear full responsibility for all accrued charges.
13. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
AAJ EXPRESS is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use of our services especially in cases where the customer has not adhered to our insurance policy.
AAJ EXPRESS will not be liable for perishable items, as they are not insurable. Shipment of such items is at the owner's risk
AAJ EXPRESS shall not be liable for damage of fragile items; fragile items are sent at owner’s risk.
AAJ shall not be liable for confiscation or destruction of illegal or illicit items such as copied or unauthorized designer brands and other contrabands by government agencies.
AAJ EXPRESS shall not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage, seizure, confiscation, or destruction of a shipment arising from actions taken by customs or other regulatory authorities, whether or not notice or reasons are provided. In such circumstances, the sender shall not be entitled to any refund or compensation.
In the event of loss or damage to goods where the customer has purchased insurance coverage, compensation will be provided based on the declared value specified in the customer’s invoice. This compensation will be issued after our insurance provider has applied any applicable deductible (excess).
14. INSURANCE POLICY
We recognize that logistics can be complex, and there may be instances of missing, lost, or damaged shipments, particularly in international logistics. While AAJ cannot guarantee 100% successful delivery, we commit to compensating customers for any missing, lost, or damaged shipments, based on the insurance package selected. Below is a list of available insurance options.
14.2. For Local Delivery
1. Non-Electronics:
- • Declared Value up to ₦70,000: Free Insurance
- • Declared Value above ₦70,000: Insurance is charged at 1% of the declared value.
2. Electronics: Insurance is charged at 1.5% of the declared value
14.3. For International Delivery
1. Free Package: Free coverage: customer get not more than ₦50,000 as compensation
2. Premium Package:
- • Premium minimum cost: ₦3,500
- • Insurance charged at 1% of the declared value
- • Maximum Declared Value: ₦5,000,000
15. CLAIMS
Visual Evidence Requirement for Claims:
In the event of a claim for damage, missing items, or tampering, the Customer must provide clear video footage and/or photographs taken at the point of opening the package, immediately upon receipt. The package must be unopened, and the unboxing must be captured from start to finish in a continuous video to serve as valid evidence.
For avoidance of doubt, any claim submitted without such visual evidence shall be deemed invalid, and AAJ EXPRESS shall bear no liability in such instances.
Customers are duly informed of this requirement through signage, stickers on packaging, and communication at the point of shipment. This measure is in place to ensure accountability and protect both parties.
16. PROFORMA INVOICE & ITEM VALUATION CLAUSE
Itemized Declaration Requirement & Discretionary Valuations:
Customers are required to accurately declare the value of each item individually on the Proforma Invoice provided at the time of shipment. This includes listing each item with a clear description and its corresponding unit value, followed by a total declared value at the end of the form.
Where a Customer fails to provide itemized values and instead states only a total declared value, AAJ EXPRESS reserves the right to allocate the total value across the listed items at its sole discretion in the event of loss, damage, or any claims.
For avoidance of doubt, no claim or compensation shall be entertained based on arbitrary or revised item values after shipment, and the AAJ’s discretionary valuation shall be final and binding in such cases.
In the event of any refund, AAJ EXPRESS’s liability shall be limited solely to the value of the shipment as declared by the sender on the proforma invoice, and no refund shall be made in respect of any undeclared or undervalued items.
AAJ EXPRESS shall not be responsible for the actual market value or replacement cost of the shipment.
17. DELIVERY CONFIRMATION & COMPLAINTS
Customers are required to confirm receipt of their shipment promptly upon delivery.
All complaints relating to concerns, discrepancies, or damage must be communicated to AAJ EXPRESS within 48 hours of delivery for local shipments and 72 hours of delivery for international shipments.
After this period, we will assume the shipment was received in good condition, and no further claims will be entertained.
18. OFFER ACCEPTANCE & CASE CLOSURE
Where a claim or complaint has been reviewed and a resolution or compensation offer is made:
Customers are required to respond, either accepting or declining the offer, within seven (7) days from the date the offer is sent.
Failure to respond within this time will result in automatic closure of the case, and no further actions will be taken.
All documents, evidence, and correspondence related to the case will be securely disposed of or archived within six months from the date the case was first opened. No further follow-up or reopening of the matter will be valid beyond this period.
19. INACTIVITY CLAUSE
If a customer initiates a case or complaint but fails to provide required responses or documentation for more than ten (10) business days, the matter will be deemed abandoned and closed without further notice or liability on our part.
20. DOCUMENT RETENTION & DISPOSAL
We operate a secure, time-bound document management policy. All case-related materials (emails, evidence, photos, delivery documents) are retained only for 6 months after a case is closed or becomes inactive. After this period, files will be permanently disposed of, and retrieval will no longer be possible.
AAJ EXPRESS shall not be held responsible for:
- • Any claim raised outside the stipulated complaint window
- • Losses or delays caused by customers’ failure to respond, submit accurate information, or follow up within the set timelines
- • Issues caused by prolonged silence or inconsistent communication from the customer
While we aim to be flexible, maintaining these timelines allows us to protect our operations, serve customers better, and avoid long-drawn or abusive disputes. Once:
- • A customer confirms satisfaction,
- • Accepts an offer, or
- • Fails to respond within the stated period,
The case shall be deemed fully resolved, and no further dispute or request on that matter will be entertained.
21. LEGAL FEES & RECOVERY COSTS
In the event that AAJ EXPRESS initiates legal action to recover any outstanding payment or enforce its rights against a customer, or successfully defends itself against any legal claim brought by the customer.
The customer shall be liable to reimburse all legal expenses incurred by AAJ EXPRESS on a full indemnity basis. This includes, but is not limited to:
- • Professional legal fees
- • Litigation and court costs
- • Tracing expenses, and
- • Any applicable collection commissions
Such costs shall be recoverable on a solicitor-and-own-client scale, meaning AAJ EXPRESS is entitled to recover the full amount actually spent, not just court-awarded limits.
This clause shall apply whether action is taken through litigation, alternative dispute resolution, or third-party recovery agents.
22. HARASSMENT, ABUSE, AND ENFORCEMENT CLAUSE
22.1. Harassment, Abuse, and Enforcement Measures
1. Zero-Tolerance Policy: AAJ EXPRESS maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against harassment, intimidation, threats, assault, unlawful detention, or any abusive conduct towards its staff, agents, representatives, or contractors.
2. Customer Obligations: Customer shall not, under any circumstances:
- • Verbally abuse, threaten, intimidate, or harass any AAJ EXPRESS staff member;
- • Physically assault or attempt to assault staff members;
- • Unlawfully detain, arrest, or attempt to arrest staff members;
- • Wilfully damage, destroy, or interfere with company property.
3. Staff Protection: No staff member of AAJ EXPRESS shall be held personally liable, responsible, or accountable for any missing, delayed, damaged, or lost shipment. Staff members are acting on behalf of the company and are fully protected under this clause.
4. Enforcement & Consequences: Any breach of this clause by a customer shall be deemed a material breach of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of a breach, AAJ EXPRESS reserves the right to:
- • Immediately suspend or terminate all services to the customer;
- • Deny access to AAJ EXPRESS premises;
- • Recover all costs arising from the customer’s conduct, including property damage, operational losses, or legal costs;
- • Report the incident to law enforcement authorities for investigation, prosecution, and any criminal or civil action as applicable.
5. Limitation of Liability: AAJ EXPRESS shall not be liable for any consequences resulting from enforcement actions taken under this clause, including refusal of service, termination, or legal reporting of the customer.
23. DATA PRIVACY
We take customer privacy seriously thereby implementing industry standard security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information.
24. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on our website and mobile app is the intellectual property of AAJ EXPRESS. Users may not use, reproduce, or distribute it without permission.
25. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions are Governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
26. CHANGES TO TERMS
AAJ EXPRESS reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
